Audit

Accountancy has the most direct link with auditing. Audit takes on the role of an inspector who checks if a company's accountancy is being carried out properly. Auditors are highly qualified persons, independent experts (an auditor has to be independent of the company carrying out the audit, if the audit tool is to be trusted by those using it) in an accountancy role who submit reports to shareholders, in relation to reliability and objectivity of financial reviews. Auditing standards are determined by national and international professional audit organisations, as well as national legislation.

Audits are available for a variety of entrepreneurial structures and may be requested by all who are interested in checking their accounting system.
Audits provide answers to two specific questions:
1. Do financial reports comply with accounting regulations?
2. Do financial reports provide a reliable and objective evaluation of a company's financial position?
